Out of school hours care (OSHC)
Para Vista OSHC is an Out of Hours Care program offered by the Para Vista Governing Council. The service provides high quality recreational care for preschool-age and school-age children. In accordance with the school and community needs the service provides: Before School Care, After School Care, Pupil Free Days and Vacation Care. A variety of indoor and outdoor spaces are accessed by the children and offer safe, stimulating and caring environments for them to explore, create, experiment and express themselves. Children are encouraged to contribute to the program.
We aim for a service that is affordable, accessible and addresses the needs of families in the local community. We encourage all parents to participate in the service and we respect families’ rights to have a voice in the decision making. Feedback from children, parents and community resource groups help us to continually improve. Para Vista School Governing Council is the License Holder for the centre. The centre has an OSHC Committee which reports to the Governing Council. Parents are welcomed to participate in the OSHC Committee and are encouraged to give input on all aspects of OSHC matters.

Para Vista OSHC is an approved provider through compliance with the Education and Early Childhood Registration and Standards Board of South Australia. The service approval letter can be found here (hyper link).
The Australian Government may provide financial assistance towards the cost of your child care. If you would like to access this assistance, you will need to complete a Child Care Subsidy assessment with Centrelink by following the below steps:
- Sign in to myGov account. If you don’t have one, you will need to create a myGov account at https://my.gov.au.
- Select Complete your Child Care Subsidy assessment task.
- Work through the steps to provide new information and confirm your details.
- Provide your Customer reference Number (CRN) and the CRN for each of your children when you enrol them at the service.
How to book
All casual bookings must be made via text message to 0400 400 400.
Your booking text message must include:
- your child’s name
- booking date and time.
All permanent bookings must be made via the OSHC booking form and emailed to email@OSHC.gov.au.
All vacation care bookings must be made via the vacation care booking form and emailed to email@OSHC.gov.au.

Bookings and cancellations
Children who do not have a booking will not be able to attend OSHC.
Permanent bookings repeat each week for the term. Places are limited and permanent spots cannot be guaranteed.
Casual bookings can only be made 24 hours before the service starts. Places are limited.
Emergency bookings are for last-minute situations, such as illness or family emergencies. They incur an emergency rate. These include bookings for before school care made after 5pm the day before, and bookings for after school care made after 1pm on the same day. We reserve a small number of spots for genuine emergency bookings.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours before the booking start time. You will need to pay the full fee for any cancellations outside this time, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
